Holy Family School works in partnership with the parents to provide each student with the opportunities to reach his/her full potential.
As a result parents are welcome in our school all the time. Many parents come into the school on a volunteer basis to help with art, english, maths, sport and general classroom activities. Many assist with school banking, canteen, library and uniform shop. Many help with covering books and organising teaching materials.
The teachers are available to parents whenever the need arises unless of course they are in class. The principal has an open door policy for parents, as well as staff and students, and only asks parents to make an appointment in particularly busy times.
Holy Family School has a Parents and Friends Association which meets the second Wednesday of each month that occurs during each school term.
The Parents and Friends Association is organised to support in various ways and in addition, to give all parents an opportunity to get to know each other. It is essential that Holy Family School has the support and co-operation of all parents if we are to attain a high standard of education for our children.
It is the parents' spirit of generosity and support for the children at Holy Family School that encourages us all to aim for the very best that is possible in the Catholic education of the children in our care.
All meetings and functions are advertised in the weekly school newsletter.
The uniform shop is managed by the P&F as a service to the parents.
The canteen is managed by a canteen manager, employed by the school, and assisted by volunteer parents.
The principal and parish priest are also assisted in the management of the school by The Holy Family School Committee. The school committee is composed of the priest, principal, parish representative, P&F representative, a teacher representative and six parent representatives. All representatives are available to support parents in any matters to do with the management of the school. The school committee meets once a month on the third Tuesday of the month.
